Mise-en-scene video feedback and learner response

 1) Type up your feedback from your teacher in full.

  • good planning+script+shot list
  • sound effects-Foley sound
  • music
  • exellent editing
  • cinematography
  • good performance

2) Type up a summary of the feedback you have had from the rest of the class - bullet points is fine.

  • good camera                                                                    make it different to my partners
  • good use of background music                                        make the camera shots more accurate            good camera angles                                                          saturated light editing

3) Use all the feedback you've been given to write your own self-assessment of your video using WWW (What Went Well) and EBI (Even Better If...)

WWW: good Foley sound, good editing, good acting performance, good setting accurate to the movie scene, good script ,good shot list,

EBI: make camera less shaky when filming the movie scene, make the lighting better and more accurate to the movie scene, if i could make it better add a drone shot because the movie has a drone shot.

4) Now reflect on your own work in more detail. How did your planning (script, shot list) help clarify and develop your ideas?

The planning helped a lot in terms of the shot list helping me pay good attention to detail, the script made sure no lines were left out and everything was said, the brief helped me understand my own work better and what I may have missed to add.

5) Thinking technically, how could you improve your work for future videos? (E.g. filming, editing, audio levels etc.)

I could improve more by paying closer attention to detail when it comes to the certain shots and particular facial expressions and verbatim making sure its as accurate as possible.

6) Finally, what have you learned regarding the importance of mise-en-scene in film and television? Write a paragraph to answer this.

I've learned that every aspect of clamps is crucial as the costume matching the original makes it feel more real, the lighting creates a sense of professionalism and ensures the actors are portrayed in the correct lighting whether that is low key or high key lighting. The actors being able to embody the original scene with similar mannerisms and the way they convey themselves towards the audience is crucial. Makeup and hair ensures all the actors look put together if needed and if they are intentionally made to appear messy or out of place then that should be taken into account as well. Lastly the setting is one of the most important factors in a film recreation as it sets the scene entirely.
